ILP #2

Design

For my last ILP I did design.  I made a prezi because I had never done one before.  I made an account, watched some tutorials, choose a CPALS standard, and made my first Prezi ever.  I really liked the ease of doing a prezi.  It was not very difficult at all.  I always avoided making prezies because I had never done one before and therefore did not want to try it.  Now I know how to use this tool and realize it is not difficult.  I really liked the zoom function while using prezi while presenting.  It is very helpful for looking at pictures.  I thought it was cute how I used the "Balance" prezi when teaching about the branches of the government because they work as checks and balances for eachother.
CPALMS Standard Used.
Number: SS.7.C.1
Title: Demonstrate an understanding of the origins and purposes of government, law, and the American political system.
Type: Standard
Subject: Social Studies
Grade: 7
Strand: Civics and Government

Blog Post # 10

The Be All End All of Blog Posts
I feel like no matter what I am teaching, using data collection tools will be an important tool as a teacher.  Depending on how old the grade I’m teaching, will influence the level of data collection tools I will use with the students.  I’m an elementary Education major, so if I’m in a classroom with particularly young students, data collection will be done by mostly me, but if I’m teaching slightly older kids, I can use Edmodo and survey monkey in class to collect data/ ask students questions in class.

I really liked to blogs about website design.  I loved learning about my fellow classmate’s websites.  Seeing all of their cool ideas and ways I could improve my own website was very inspiring.  I also really liked looking at everyone’s games they created.  I feel like those are the two things I am most looking forward to making for my class, so seeing all the ideas was super helpful.

The next technology I would like to really understand how to use is excel.  I know we have already started to learn the basics, but I am very unconfident in my skills and need to improve my skills.  I know I will use it a lot in my future classroom.  Excel has so many awesome tools that will be super helpful, but I need to really learn how to use it more efficiently.  I also really want to learn about using 3D printers.

Well, I can learn more about Excel by looking it up on YouTube and finding videos to help me.  I can also practice more of what I learned in class.  I can go back to the sandbox to learn more about 3D printers.
